London sets the scene to my life of the past 5 years. In its diverse landscape, it portrays the eclecticism of a city rich in cultures, people and an every changing chronology. In High Perspective, the view from the window of my university accommodation has been painted to represent not only the stunning panorama which I woke up to every morning, but also the way in which the City changed and sculpted the life of my friends and I in that first significant year of our London experience. Paris has been equally important in sculpting me as a person and so often inspiring, has instigated an impulse to paint far beyond the two examples included here. However, Le Paris Formidable was the first large-scale painting I every undertook, illustrating, literally, the formidable character of Paris, and remains one of my favourite and perhaps one of the most intellectually loaded of my works.
