Landscapes - I didn't wander into the realm of landscapes easily. Considering them to be a limited sphere of art, I avoided generic landscapes, opting instead for a surreal or distorted representation of a scene as demonstrated by High Persepective or Orange Square. However, I set about painting my Cityscape collection merely as a way of practising the effect of skies and light and water. But what resulted pleased me so immensely that I have been obsessively indulging in oil landscapes ever since, realising that like a thousand differing photographs of one scene, there are even more opportunities for change and flexibility in the artistic representation of any living landscape.
